The retail sector requires both broad and specialist skills and understanding, depending on the precise nature of the sub-sector. Learners can study the intricacies of visual merchandising, marketing and promotion, and food or fashion retailing, alongside the core elements of customer service and business principles. Students completing the BTEC Level 3 National Award in Retail can go on to higher education, a university degree or, if employed in the sector, can progress through continuing professional development.
The BTEC National Award in Retail was replaced by the QCF-accredited BTEC Level 3 Certificate and Subsidiary Diploma in Business from September 2010. Find out more
