Edexcel ESOL Skills for Life qualifications are currently approved by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) for candidates who require these qualifications to gain the skills they need to integrate more effectively within society. Edexcel ESOL (speaking and listening) qualifications are also accepted and approved by the UKBA for citizenship and settlement applications.

New UKBA list of approved English language test providers
Earlier this year, the UKBA published a new list of approved English language test providers under tiers 1, 2 and 4 of the points-based system and for spouse/partner visas. This replaces all existing lists.

Edexcel is not currently on this new approved list. However, Edexcel ESOL Skills for Life qualifications are still valid for settlement and citizenship applications.
