Entry level certificate | Design and Technology

Recognising first achievement in Design and Technology

Edexcel’s Entry Level Certificate in Design and Technology is designed for students who are not yet ready for GCSE. It recognises achievement at Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3, and offers progression to all of our GCSE Design and Technology specifications.

Students taking the Entry Level Certificate in Design and Technology can choose to focus on one of five Design and Technology routes:

  • Resistant Materials Technology
  • Graphic Products
  • Textiles Technology
  • Food Technology
  • Electronic Products.

The specification contains set tasks for assessment, which are internally marked and externally moderated by Edexcel.
 

The new specification for ELC Design and Technology (8911) has now been accredited by Ofqual for first teaching in September 2013 and first assessment in June 2014.

The final assessment window for the current ELC Design and Technology specification (8910) is June 2013
