GCSE Specifications

All of our courses have a specification which lists the course content and tells you what you can be assessed on. Click one of the links on this page to open the specification for your subject.

The majority of our current GCSEs have two versions of each specification - a modular version and a linear version.

Modular specifications

If you're planning on completing your course in or before the Summer 2013 exam session, you have the option to complete units in different exam sessions throughout the year.

For Maths, English and Sciences you may be able to complete some units in November or March as well as the summer exam session.
Other GCSE subjects may offer units in January. You can find full details of when units are offered in the specification and the exam timetables.

Linear specifications

If you're planning on completing your course after the June 2013 exam session, all of your units must be assessed in the same exam session.

You can complete coursework throughout the year but, for the majority of subjects, exams will only be available in the summer exam session.
English, English Language and Maths exams will be available in the November exam session for students who want to re-sit.
