Principal Learning available as a stand-alone qualification from September 2011

Following the success of the Principal Learning component of the 14-19 Diploma, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be offering Principal Learning as a stand-alone qualification in September 2011.

What does Principal Learning as a stand-alone qualification offer the learner?
Principal Learning allows learners to focus more strongly on learning and applying work-relevant skills and knowledge within their chosen sector. 

Can we offer other individual components from the Diploma alongside Principal Learning?
You can still deliver other individual components from the Diploma qualification where appropriate for the learner - for example, functional skills or the Project.

Are you still accepting registrations for the full 14-19 Diploma qualification?
Yes – we will continue to provide our complete service and support package to help you with your teaching and administration, and are accepting registrations for the full 14-19 Diploma qualification for September 2011 delivery.

How can Principal Learning help me offer the right curriculum for my learners in the context of the Wolf Report recommendations? 
Both the full 14-19 Diploma and stand-alone Principal Learning qualifications combine internal and external assessment, alongside strong employer engagement — two criteria Professor Wolf considered in her recent report on vocational education to be essential factors for the successful delivery of quality vocational qualifications.
