Study in North America
There are currently more than half a million international students pursuing higher education studies in North America. North American universities are recognised and respected globally for their excellence, diversity, flexibility, range of opportunities, modern facilities, resources to enhance the learning experience, and top quality teachers
Qualifications typically recognised in USA and Canada
Most universities recognise GCSE and A level qualifications and some colleges and universities also recognise Level 3 BTEC qualifications. However, entry criteria for undergraduate programmes at American and Canadian universities vary depending on the university’s specific admissions policy.
Progression pathways for Edexcel learners
Edexcel qualifications are offered in more than 90 countries around the world and the US and Canada are key destinations for Edexcel students. This is why we've formalised recognition with American and Canadian universities for our GCSEs and A level qualifications and some of our vocational qualifications, including the Level 3 BTEC diploma and the HND. These agreements make Edexcel students aware of the progression options available to them and the admissions criteria for undergraduate degree programmes at American and Canadian universities.
