We believe in the importance of recognising inspirational teachers for their commitment to helping young people achieve their full potential. The prestigious awards, now in their twelfth year, are a vital part of the teaching calendar – a chance to take a step back and thank outstanding teachers all over the country for the work they do educating our young people. The awards programme identifies and celebrates exceptional teachers who are achieving outstanding results, often in the most challenging circumstances.  The Pearson Teaching Awards will take place on 21 October 2012, and will be broadcast on BBC2 on 28 October.
